Washing dishes is the anecdote to confusion. I know that for a fact

If there are any redeeming qualities, it would have to be the production values and the OST. Another quality job by Madhouse Inc., but it was expected for the highly praised company with the reputation of being one of the best in the anime industry. If you appreciate the upper echelon of animation eye-candy, with a mysterious narrative back drop, then Boogiepop (2019) may be up your alley, but don’t expect much else.

I absolutely didn’t like the original as the art of it was atrocious and I was unable to understand wtf was going on. Seriously though, this anime badly needed a renovation on the art and I was pretty excited when they did announce it last year that they were gonna remake the anime. I’m normally not the type who likes originals getting redone again but definitely Boogiepop had to be one of them this time.

You still get confused with the 2019 version’s storyline but same time, the art was just nice, the opening as well as the closing song are great and I gotta say, Aoi Yûki did a fantastic job as playing Boogiepop. She really did the voice so smooth and so sarcastic at the same time that you would just feel weird in a strikingly good way haha! I also liked the fact that this anime does give you a bit of heartwrenching and quite extreme questionable moments. Now people who prefered the original version may not think so as the art in the 2019 is rather glossy than actually scary as the orginal. I would only consider a anime “scary” if there were so many jumpscares like a slendermen type of game. I do like my horror folks but thats what I feel when im having a heart pounding moment lol.

Definitely if you didn’t like the original like myself, I’d give Boogiepop a chance by watching this 2019 version instead!!
