Another eventful two weeks on Puzzle and Dragons, with possibly more news at the finale of Gungho Fest on May 26th! Will try to cover content of both regions in this post. Enjoy.
The votes are in, and NA has once again voted for Cotton. Not exactly a bad choice; the 7* witches (especially Zela) is less prominent in NA due to lack of the strong Wood leads. Trading for Zela was a no brainer when the results came around for JP. I mean just look at the wood dominance in Tier 1 and 2 of the Aggregate list! Though, for Cotton, consider below:
My general advice is, unless you already have 3+ Cottons in your box, trading is generally worth it considering you already have 20+ rainbow medals. Pretty much a free 6* GFE with that can fit into any mono-colour team. Rainbow medals are given out in handfuls anyway, and there’s barely any use for them. The “Trojan Horse” equip is nice to have, but that will stay in the shop indefinitely along with cards like Dark Ra Dragon, so no hurry.
It’s still worth trading for IMO, if you only have enough for 3 Black Medals and have to trade a separate dupe GFE in for Cotton. Generally. When in doubt, ask.
If for some reason you don’t have enough medals for the scenarios above (14 or less medals), then the trade quickly loses its value for being a “free” GFE. Cotton isn’t mind-blowing right now, and I would advise not to consider trading at this point. There will be plenty of opportunities to roll her in 10-stone SGF that come around every 2 weeks anyway.
This REM is very straightforward. Little to no reason why you should be or want to roll in this REM. Barely any value in all of the rolls. Not even worth trading for the 8*, either. If anything, the 8* seasonals will appear in some featured 10-stone SGF sometime down the line anyway.
Now onto fresh JP content:
Sanrio Collab (JP)
Sanrio makes a comeback with some new cards joining PAD. The spotlight this week goes to the 7* roll in the Sanrio REM, Zela Kitty! What can I say, except the Wood dominance is so real. Other than her leader skill being quite good (4x HP and RCV, 144x ATK at max, with duo Kitties), she has some decent sub and assist value too, for her “null attribute absorb” + Zela board active skill. Tanky, can heal up on her own, VDP hits hard and adds 2 combos. Sub in a couple of actual Zelas and have Asakura Yoh’s Assist somewhere, and you’ve got yourself a whale wood team.
Dacho’s whale team clearing Alt Arena 2
And for jokes,
Here is Shuu doing 3-Player with 6 Zela Kitties
As for the rest of the REM, the 6* aren’t too great despite buffs. The majority of what you roll are going to be 5*. Some notable ones include:
Badtz-Maru is an inheritable orb refresh without additional effects to slow down the skill. Could’ve been useful in ranking dungeons, but Gungho changed how refreshes work.
Kuromi is buffed to reduce defense to 0 for 3 turns, and haste 2. Not bad; could be useful in some farming applications.
Gudetama. Interesting card with multiple different evos for “different” use. Easier to see for yourself on his stats page. Comes with orb skin. 3.5% rates instead of the usual 10%+ rates of regular Gold rolls.
Anyway, verdict for this REM is the usual: roll a few (around 5-ish) for collection purposes. Zela Kitty is great, but not exactly worth trying to roll for at only 1.5%. Trade for Zela Kitty instead, if you want to hop on the Wood bandwagon.
10-stone Girl SGF (JP)
Pretty good lineup, great chance to snag 7* GFE and 7* Heroines, and maybe some other 6* GFE along the way. Chances are the combined rates will come to 33%, and probably 1% each on each of the 7* base GFE/Heroines. If there’s a waifu you want on the list, now’s your chance! Word of caution, Gungho Fest is coming in 2 weeks; who knows what they will have in store for us then?
The Godfest starts tomorrow, in ~14 hours, on May 13th.
In other news… (JP)
Was going to change up Saber Alter’s placement due to feedback and adjustments, but Game8 dropped her tier in their list. So now she’s really stuck in Tier 3.
New Years Artemis got placed back onto the list at Tier 4, due to a buff to most seasonal 8*, back in April 25th. Her leader skill got buffed from maxing out at 12x ATK, to 14x.
Diablos finally got kicked from the list due to stagnation and the dominance of strong 6×5 leads. However, a change to his leader skill is in the works, and will probably be revealed during GungHo Fest. I suspect Diablos will be back in some shape or form!
… And that is it for this post. As usual, thanks for reading!
Also shoutouts and thanks for the kind donations!
DISCLAIMER: (quoted from SetsuPAD)
On all current and future Aggregate/Tier lists: “Don’t take these ratings as fact; I encourage you to simply take them as a starting point for discussion to figure out which leads are actually the best for your specific situation.”
Cards you own that are not on these Tier Lists are not automatically non-viable, and cards you own that are on these Tier Lists are not automatically viable.
These tier lists pretty much assume BEST and OPTIMAL subs (often hard-to-acquire GFEs/collab cards) tackling hard dungeons (3-Player Rushes, Alt Arena, Arena 4, etc.) Therefore, their uses largely depend on your box, your progression in PAD, and personal puzzling + comboing skills.
