Hey all! Going to be another mishmash post on the various Collab REMs today, starring the return of Yu Yu Hakusho Collab, as well as the GungHo Collab. With Monster Hunter Collab coming back next week for JP (and possibly NA?) and more to come, it’s always important to consider how much value you are getting out of your stones.
Also a small mention, the Patreon and Ko-fi donate buttons you may have seen around the site will also contribute to server costs I pay to the admin to host my PAD content, amongst other things. If you enjoy my content, please do give it a thought. Thanks!
Yu Yu Hakusho REM
Yu Yu Hakusho returns to PAD, at 5 stones per roll.
There were some new interesting additions to the REM, but in my opinion, nothing too mind-blowing to be going after:
The new 6* Mukuro leader skill feels reminiscent to the good old Green Odin back in the day: 80% damage reduction when HP is full (and 4x attack); another 4x attack for Fire/Dark attribute. Not bad per se, but multi-hits and preempts completely destroys the leader skill. Of course, his full healing active helps, but it’s always too high maintenance to run, going into harder Arenas for example. Possibly a farming lead or a sub at most, but there are better options.
The other new 6* Yomi leader skill looks good on paper, but only having the shield at <50% HP is like, why even? A huge single hit nuke from a rage hit or preempt (think Hera’s 136k SINGLE hit in Alt Arena) when you heal slightly over 50% from the previous floor is death. And the attack multiplier requires 10 combos to reach a maximum of only 15x. I’d rather run the classic DMeta team in.
The 3 new 5* cards… Well, they don’t really fill any niche in their base form nor assists. Just new cards for the sake of having new cards.
As for the new Ult Evos, you can take a look at everything there is to know also from the link above (takes you to the full collab info by the PADX). The more notable ones are Yusuke’s and Sensui’s Ult Evo.
Again I’m not a big fan of having shield only below 50% HP. Same scenario as I’ve described above. Worth more as a sub, just like his other evo form.
Split Ult Sensui’s the one with a leader skill more worth mentioning: 7×6 board, 3.5x ATK for 8+ combos, 3x ATK and 25% shield for attacking with 4+ colors. Feels like a direct upgrade to Campus Idol Uruka from the PAD Academy Seasonal REM, Sensui’s LS boasts more firepower and flexibility. Not a bad 7×6 lead to join the fray, BUT the 6×5 meta is just too strong right now.
With all that being said, I would not recommend rolling in this REM. Obviously there were buffs and super awakenings added to existing cards to bring them up to par, I feel they will fall rather quickly. Though if you’ve never rolled in Yu Yu Hakusho before, a few rolls to grab some unique cards can be justified. There are better things to roll for, just over the horizon.
Well, I kind of took too much time and effort writing up Yu Yu Hakusho, so I’ll keep this section shorter. You can view the new “Dark Color” evos at PADX’s blog here.
Originally, I believe the Gungho Collab was its own separate REM at 6 (or 7?) stones per roll. But it hasn’t been its own REM ever since it’s first appearance, instead appearing alongside a 10-stone Super Godfest instead. Anyway, the point I’d like to make is, I usually like to group them with 6* GFE for comparison. And they hold up pretty well; the new Dark Color evos are pretty great, and gave much needed buffs to the weaker Chrono MaGia cards (I’m looking at you Zeta)
Karin Shindou’s dark version has a pretty good leader skill. Only 1.5x HP to light cards, but an easy max multiplier at 16x and 2x RCV is welcoming. Possibly too squishy in Alt Arena, but otherwise not bad. Currently sitting at Tier 3 on Aggregate. And she can always be useful in her Assist Evo form, giving a Skill Boost.
Raizer was already pretty good in his regular form (a good lead for speed farming Arena 1-3), but now has a dark form. Good assist for a 2 turn damage absorb null!
Elena Brilliant probably worth more in her regular form as a sub (good active + killer awakenings), but her Dark form has a pretty decent leader skill too.
Zeta is pretty trashy in his base form and his Assist form, but his new Dark Color evo breaths life back into him. Again, I haven’t done extensive research into these cards nor looked at JP Youtuber videos, but his leader skill looks pretty solid on paper.
All in all, pretty great buffs to the GungHo collab’s main characters. I’m sad that the other 6* didn’t receive nearly enough love (I only have Zeta and Karin, meanwhile 4 Orages). Which leads to my next point:
10-Stone Super Godfest + Extras
The featured 6* Gungho Characters come at 2% each for a total of 14%.
The 5 witches + 7* Echidna/ADK/Hera + Gungho Reeche at 1.5% each for a total of 13.5%
A few other 6* GFE totals 6%.
Pretty good rates honestly. Normally this would be the part where I tell you to spend your stones here, but Monster Hunter Collab is returning next week for JP. Teaser videos have already shown us that it’s definitely worth holding onto your stones for.
L-shape leader skill? +2 combos built into the LS? Soon™
DISCLAIMER: (quoted from SetsuPAD)
On all current and future Aggregate/Tier lists: “Don’t take these ratings as fact; I encourage you to simply take them as a starting point for discussion to figure out which leads are actually the best for your specific situation.”
Cards you own that are not on these Tier Lists are not automatically non-viable, and cards you own that are on these Tier Lists are not automatically viable.
These tier lists pretty much assume BEST and OPTIMAL subs (often hard-to-acquire GFEs/collab cards) tackling hard dungeons (3-Player Rushes, Alt Arena, Arena 4, etc.) Therefore, their uses largely depend on your box, your progression in PAD, and personal puzzling + comboing skills.
