Hey all! We’ve finally seen some updates to Game8 and AppMedia, which solidifies ranking spots for the new cards that we’ve been frequently seeing. This includes Sonia=Fio, Sonia=Kurea, and Amen. I’ve already talked about the Awoken Sonia sisters in my last post , so we’ll be focusing on Amen today, amen.
For those unfamiliar, JP had their 6th anniversary back at in February, and part of the updates included the addition of 3 new MP cards, each costing 750k MP. Apart from their regular forms, they also have powerful Assist Evo forms, boasting 1 SB for fire, full unbindable for water, and 3 wood rows for wood form, respectively. In the regular form, the one that stood out the most was the fire MP card, Amen.
Amen, as a leader, notably boasts 4 Time Extends and full unbindable awakening. To accompany that, his leader skill is frightening indeed: (No Skyfall Combos) 10x ATK when exactly 7 combos; 10x ATK if board is left with less than 3 orbs after matching. Double Amen at full strength is 10000x ATK, enough to murder most if not all bosses available in the game right now. If that wasn’t enough, making exactly 7 combos also activates the 7c awakening for cards such as Ideal or Yuna.
Amen is a glass cannon at its finest, capable of easily blasting through bosses with 99% shield (Dios, Mion) and Lakshmi. But activating both attack multipliers is definitely not easy, and requires experience to balance combo count and orb usage. Basically team-building wise you want to prioritise subs with HP/team HP awakenings/Time extends/emergency actives. Since damage will not be a problem at all, you want to make sure you can tank at least one hit just in case, and have enough time extends to set up your board.
As for the reason for his current Tier 4 ranking on our Aggregate Tier list, the reason is somewhat obvious: squishy without a solid whale set-up (and even then it’s still squishy), requires a very different style of gameplay, and loses out to some of the bosses out there (damage void, 8 combo absorb, etc) There are work-arounds of course, but you’re just going to be sacrificing sub/inheritance space to deal with an otherwise easy mechanic for other teams.
There’s still a lot to talk about, but that is going to be the end of this week’s post. Thank you for reading, and I’ll see you guys next week!
DISCLAIMER: (quoted from SetsuPAD) on all current and future Aggregate/Tier lists: “Don’t take these ratings as fact; I encourage you to simply take them as a starting point for discussion to figure out which leads are actually the best for your specific situation.”
Cards you own that are not on these Tier Lists are not automatically nonviable, and cards you own that are on these Tier Lists are not automatically viable.
These tier lists assume BEST subs (often hard-to-acquire GFEs/collab cards) tackling hard dungeons (Arena 3, 3-Player Rushes, ALT Arena/Arena 4). Therefore, their uses largely depend on your box, your progression in PAD, and personal puzzling/comboing skills.
