Hey everyone! More life troubles have come up the last two months, and thus I wasn’t able to post and even update you guys on what’s going on. Long story short, it’s yet another family/relationship thing. Things are a little calmer now, but who knows when the next chaotic storm will come. In the meantime, I’ve came up with another Aggregate list and some (late) write up for the thoughts on the last few major updates. Enjoy?
Since last time, the Fate Collab cards (Shirou, Saber, Saber Alter, Rin) have pretty much settled down onto the Tier list, with Shirou on top as I had predicted: restrictive team building, but comes tanky and easy to play once you have a solid team going. The Sabers… have great multipliers and resists, but they play rainbow, which naturally places them lower (hard to “burst”, requires full rainbow board rather than bicolors of mono teams, harder to maintain).
Street Fighter V Collab
A nice surprise collab with some good 5* cards in the pool to grab.
- Zangief’s skill makes a “pseudo-Sado” board change, spawning fire orbs around the board enough for 3 fire rows; potentially useful for farming.
- Bison (Balrog in NA) is a never seen before 350x nuke, can see use in speed farming.
- Dhalsim is a 5 turn bind + awoken bind skill similar to Green Odin, godsend for us who never had the luck to roll such a “common” card.
- Cammy is a good Attacker-killer stick + 2 SB , good for farming in wood teams, i.e. Kaede, Sylvie, etc
As for the diamond eggs, all will have their uses due to their Assist evo forms and good actives for farming. For example, Evil Ryu makes a dark VDP box by himself. Ryu and Sakura spawns a “L”, useful for clearing locked orb debuffs (Volsung, SFVAE medal farming, etc). UEvo Vega (M Bison for NA) makes double dark rows together for the combo orb awakening; similarly Guile does the same.
As for cards that are leader material, I’ll only get into the Tiered cards:
- Ryu appears in Tier 2 of our Aggregate Leader List; has quite the simple yet strong leader skill. Though basically requires a Light Bastet to maintain multiplier. Otherwise, quite tanky and easy to use. Can just match a Light L on trash floors for quick clears.
- Uevo Sagat plays like a Nicol Bolas from Magic: the Gathering. Lower max ATK multiplier (only 225x compared to Bolas’s 900x), but arguably easier to activate and a quite a bit tankier at 75% shield with double Sagat. This makes him viable in harder dungeons. Sitting at Tier 3
All in all, definitely worth rolling than just a few in the REM, but I guess I’m too late to the party…
PAD 7th Anniversary + Events
Another batch of 7* GFE, this time with 7* Hera, ADK, and Echidna. Going to trade for Echidna needless to say; great for co-op farming, and is also a huge throwback to our favourite card back in the day (makes me feel old to be honest)
The Anniversary Stream itself is becoming more and more of a letdown. I remember the 5th Anniversary had an actual grand stage with lights, guest performers, and everything. And is also ACTUALLY a live stream. 6th ditched the grand stage, but was still streamed live. This year’s 7th however… is a pre-recorded video for us to watch. I understand they want to avoid backlash and lawsuits from streamers saying incorrect things live (and also streamline the process), but damn the excitement factor of streaming just drops way down for me.
The small saving grace is the announcement of “new” modes of gameplay: Gachadra fever and solo dungeon play in PADR. Had some fun playing the Gachadra Ranking 1 and 2, but it gets boring fast. Hope they spice it up for next time.
The Zela exchange, in my opinion, is something they should hop onto. Again, I realize I’m late to the party, but 25 rainbow medals isn’t a lot, especially considering they’re handing out up to 14 medals just from that Gachadra Fever. There’s a reason that Tier 1 wood leads Komasan S and Black RX are at the top, and that’s with the 3 7c awakening Zela. With Monster Hunter Collab and DIABLOS coming back in the future, I feel Zela won’t be losing her spotlight anytime soon. And at the worst, Zela can become an unbindable Assist Hat with a long cooldown.
I haven’t done a lot of research on the Mega Evos, so the following will just be my impressions.
Paimon’s ATK spikes quite high with 2 crosses, but attack is kinda overkill and not what you need for harder content. Crosses are awkward to match, esp. when you have to deal with resolves, combo absorbs, VDP.
Dual Typhon is quite tanky with 4x HP and 43% shield. Matching a “heart TPA” and comboing will activate his full multiplier. FUA against resolve mobs are a breeze. 144x ATK multiplier is a little on the low side in this day and age, though his active skill makes up for the fact.
Mega Ilm… Much better suited as a sub, in my opinion.
Dantalion is too high maintenance for his multiplier, requiring at least 6 hearts per turn. No HP multiplier means he’s squishy when he doesn’t have his hearts to activate his other shield. Active skill is lacklustre compared to other Mega Evos.
Super Reincarnated Haku is very cute and definitely worth making. Looks aside, her increased stats and better awakenings + Limitbreak makes her an upgrade. Though how she will fit in any of the current Meta teams is another question…
Yu Yu Hakusho collab is coming back for next week. The new cards have already been leaked via pad_sexy’s Twitter, and boy does it have some interesting meta cards, surprise surprise. Will probably do a write up on the REM for next time.
As for me, I will probably stick around with PAD and this blog for a while longer, at least until life inevitably comes calling again.
Finally, I’ve gotten a message as of late asking what is up and how they could help. Well, the admin of BakaData has recently set up a Patreon page. For the time being, I would like to direct you there if you would like to contribute. Maybe I can even run a few dungeons with you? Only JP though. Leave a message here or there so I know it’s from my PAD readers. Thanks in advance!
As always, thanks for reading!
DISCLAIMER: (quoted from SetsuPAD)
On all current and future Aggregate/Tier lists: “Don’t take these ratings as fact; I encourage you to simply take them as a starting point for discussion to figure out which leads are actually the best for your specific situation.”
Cards you own that are not on these Tier Lists are not automatically non-viable, and cards you own that are on these Tier Lists are not automatically viable.
These tier lists pretty much assume BEST and OPTIMAL subs (often hard-to-acquire GFEs/collab cards) tackling hard dungeons (3-Player Rushes, Alt Arena, Arena 4, etc.) Therefore, their uses largely depend on your box, your progression in PAD, and personal puzzling + comboing skills.
