Well; another Collab, another mass purge.
Good day everyone. With the introduction of the Fate collab, we’re seeing yet another large purge of older cards, which you can see for yourself below. Over the past few months, the respective JP sites’ tier lists keep getting condensed. Coincidentally, they also happen right around when collab/seasonals happen, possibly to save work on its maintenance? But I digress; let’s get into the real meat of this week’s topic: Fate/stay Night Heaven’s Feel Collab
Two weeks ago I was hyping up for its release and the new cards and waifus it will bring. Sadly to say, I am quite disappointed that Rin didn’t get much love. Nor was I able to roll her within ~30 rolls. Consequently, similar thing happened with the SAO Collab, where my favourite Leafa also received multiple 80%+ HP enhances.
I pretty much hate this awakening with a passion. Vastly underpowered when compared with 7c, 10c, or <50% HP enhance. 80%+ only provides 1.5x boost when compared to 7c or <50%’s 2x, not to mention one preempt (and you’ll get a lot of it in Alt Arena) will easily knock you below 80%. Harder to maintain and also less rewarding.
… But anyway, I was originally planning to release this last week, but seeing as there is the YamaP buffs for Fate, I decided to hold out until today, when most of the Tier list sites have settled on the Fate buffs. Basically, the strong gets stronger. You can probably tell already who is going to be featured this week:
Basically the card that no one wanted to lead this Collab, Shirou is super tanky and have even received an ATK multiplier buff to boot. I encourage you to check out his full stats before reading further.
Alternatively, Blogging Mama has a clean and full rundown on Fate if you haven’t checked it out already.
Continuing on, the write-up for Shirou’s leader skill is outdated on PuzzleDragonX; his max ATK multiplier is buffed to “up to 5x at 9 combos”, which effectively gives him 4x HP, 4x RCV, and 400x ATK (for a built team). His restriction comes from team building, in that cards have to be Fire/Light or Light/Fire. Well, the recent Collab “gems” fill that position quite nicely.
Cards like Ilmina, Edward Elric, Den-O (Kamen Rider Collab), Fire Cotton, Elena (Gungho Collab), Ippo (Shonen Magazine Collab) and other “whale” cards fit extremely well into Shirou’s team. Heck, since the topic of subs have been so hot, KAZUKI has done an Alt Arena run with 4 Sakuya subs (whale inherits though, guess you can’t have everything)
Shirou comes with, again, the usual package: Balanced typing, limit break, super awakening, decent and synergistic active skill. One of his only weakness is his lack of awakenings, but heck he already has the essentials down: unbindable, 2SB, 1 SBR, and 1 time extend. His damage will come from his damage stick sub: Den-O with his triple 7c. So now he’s left with his crappy move time, but that’s not a huge problem when you can just use the Time Extend+ awakening badge on a 6×5 board.
There are a ton of Shirou videos clearing Alt Arena and that new “Three hands of Fate”… Though almost all of them feature the same subs of Den-O, Fire Cotton, Ilmina, Napoleon, Ippo. So here, I’ll only showcase our popular and whale Youtuber Natti’s run.
Anyway, it’s honestly quite ridiculous how far and fast we’ve come to creep the meta with 4x HP/RCV and with a huge 400x ATK multiplier.
Shirou’s team doesn’t even need any special healer (Kuroyuri, Mel, Eir, etc.) Remember Barbara & Julie’s 144x, or DMeta’s 225x? It’s only been a few months. Currently Shirou sits at Tier 2 on our Aggregate Leader List, but sites have yet to take Shirou’s buffs into account yet. We may be seeing his rise to Tier 1 next time.
Fate/stay Night REM
I feel like I repeat myself with every recommendation I do for these new REMs, but here it is again:
Fate’s REM is 6 stones per roll. There are only 4 diamonds in the REM, and at 2.5% rates each, that comes to 10% diamond.
Shirou, like I’ve described above, is yet another beast to join the fray. However, I can’t really recommend him to anyone unless you’re a whale and already have 2-3 of his key subs. Otherwise, you’ll be paining yourself to roll him in this “Gold fest”.
Saber and Saber Alter‘s not bad; I can’t really say much for her since I’m biased against rainbow teams (I also hate team building rainbows). Awakening’s pretty good though; could make a good sub if leading isn’t an option
Rin‘s a let down in my opinion. Her double shield is nice, but the orb requirement is quite strict even with the buff (fire + light match for 25% shield, 5+ orb match other than fire/light for the other 25%). Heck, her active skill alone doesn’t even guarantee her to activate her LS. Very nice trophy/cheerleader for your box, however.
Gilgamesh… didn’t get rolled by YamaP and didn’t receive any significant buffs. His 7×6 is 16x ATK, but comes at a cost of no skyfalls, no shield, and a 10 combo + 12 or less orb left requirement. Too squishy in light of the 4x HP meta right now.
Most of the golds have or will probably have niche uses as inherits later on.
Caster has 4 killers, which could be useful in future ranking dungeons or a cheese sub for farming teams. Also has a pretty good active for dark farming teams.
Rider has a 200x nuke active and also heals. Also comes with 3SB base. Again, possibly useful in speed farm teams that also need heals (from 99% pre-empts, perhaps?)
Berserker has a full heal active and unlock orbs, and a shield. Another possible farming team active.
Ilya is cute.
Lancer is an unlock + double row changer, and also with a VDP. Has potential.
Shinji‘s ALL orb lock can probably be used to cheese some weird Monthly Quest dungeons (looking at you Lakshmi)
Archer has an orb refresh. Nice grab if you don’t have something similar like Keiji Maeda.
Keeping it real however, most of you have probably rolled most of your stones already and have tons of 5* duplicates. That aside however, my verdict for Fate unfortunately remains similar to others in the past: its Gold rolls will probably have their uses later on. Gambling until you have most of the Golds, again, is what I would do. And pray for your waifu/husbando comes in a lucky diamond roll. Somwhere around 8-10 rolls?
As for trading, because it’s a 6-stone REM, trading will require 5 cards instead of the usual 4, I can’t really recommend trading unless you’re a Fate fan like me (or maybe for Shirou). Again, with PAD’s 7th anniversary next month and all these free stones that Gungho has gifted us, they must have something big prepared. Also there’s a 10-stone Super Godfest next week in JP; who knows what it will have.
Personally I have rolled ~30 times in total (only 1 diamond, Gilgamesh BTW PepeHands) and still managed to have 200 stones saved up. Looking to cash in for the top-tier sub Zela one of these Godfests.
Thanks for reading!
DISCLAIMER: (quoted from SetsuPAD)
On all current and future Aggregate/Tier lists: “Don’t take these ratings as fact; I encourage you to simply take them as a starting point for discussion to figure out which leads are actually the best for your specific situation.”
Cards you own that are not on these Tier Lists are not automatically non-viable, and cards you own that are on these Tier Lists are not automatically viable.
These tier lists pretty much assume BEST and OPTIMAL subs (often hard-to-acquire GFEs/collab cards) tackling hard dungeons (3-Player Rushes, Alt Arena, Arena 4, etc.) Therefore, their uses largely depend on your box, your progression in PAD, and personal puzzling + comboing skills.
